A common saying among Christians in India regarding Hinduism is “You carry your gods but our God carries us.” This is reflected in Gospel Light Worldwide’s mission there as we are helping children to develop a relationship with Jesus that allows them to be carried in His arms in the midst of poverty, limited opportunities and religious oppression. With Christians making up less than 3% of the population, India is a land ripe for the harvest. India is primarily a Hindu nation with more than 80% of the people practicing Hinduism and Muslims making up just over 13% of the population.

Currently Gospel Light Worldwide is working with local leaders in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala translating the curriculum and holding teacher trainings. Our goal is to equip as many teachers as possible and get Bible curriculum into millions of little hands so that children of today will be India’s Christian leaders of the future.
